sleepy hollow

the orange sky raged last night, the thunder in rolling waves of cracking gongs and booms, soundscaping the silhouettes behind pouring rain. woken up by a fallen crack and a full bladder, the first instinct was to sit by the window and watch nature's majesty and strength from a safe shelter, feeling the cool air and breeze through the grills. afraid of waking up the unconscious - and therefore ensuring no sleep after - i shut off this instinct and shuffled back to bed.

what for?

it's a hard balance to find, pragmatism and heart. i've yet to fuse both together well.
